General information about Sri Lanka Escape-Bentota and Colombo

Bentota is a resort town on Sri Lanka’s southwest coast. Its long Bentota Beach stretches north, where it becomes a sandy strip known as Paradise Island, parallel to Bentota Lagoon. Coral-rich dive sites include Canoe Rock. On Bentota River, centuries-old Galapota Temple has a large Buddha statue. Southeast is Lunuganga, the estate, and gardens of architect Geoffrey Bawa. Northeast is his brother Bevis's Brief Garden.

Day 1

On arrival at Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport you will be met and transferred by our local representative to Bentota.It is the city of the Golden Beaches. Overnight at the hotel in Bentota.

Day 2

Today we proceed to enjoy city tour of Bentota. Enjoy a boat ride along the Madhu River. It is a scenic and a relaxing tour and also interesting while passing many islets forested with mangroves trees.You will also experience the natural rhythms as well. If you are looking for more exclusive experience visit the turtle hatchery too. The Turtle Hatchery is the prime turtle nesting site which was open by the Wild life Protection Society in 1981. Visitors can see huge tanks filled with new born turtle hatch lings. After being fed, the baby turtles are taken to the sea and released when they are 2- 4 days old, usually during the safer hours of darkness. Please note this tour does not include entrance fees to Turtle Hatchery and Madu River Boat ride. Overnight at the hotel in Bentota.

Day 3

After breakfast, drive to Colombo which is the commercial capital of Sri Lanka. Arrive at Colombo. Enjoy the city tour of Colombo. Galle Face Green is a magnificent place to witness a marvelous sun set over Sri lanka. Visit National Museum and Ganagarama Temple. Many colonial buildings influenced by the Portuguese, Dutch and British exist alongside structures built in Buddhist, Hindu, Islamic, Indian and contemporary architectural styles. Colombo also boasts many shopping malls and department stores that offer brand name clothing at highly discounted prices. Therefore, it has become an important shopping destination among tourists. For shopping, you may visit Odel,House of Fashion, Beverly Street, Majestic City, Noritake, etc. Overnight at the hotel in Colombo.

This morning you will be transferred to the Colombo Bandaranaike International Airport to board your flight back to home or your next destination.
